poems by billie myers

I’m not quite sure, if anyone of you have heard of Billie Myers.

I heard her music, because of my interest in female singer/songwriters, that started in the 90s. Yes, Alanis still on top of my list, but it can be dull if you get stuck in one artist - so that’s how I discovered Billie Myers.

She released two albums already, first one is called "Growing Pains" where the smashing song "Kiss the Rain" came from. Then "Vertigo" - which unfortunately didn’t get enough word out there to be appreciate by others..

Anyway, Billie is back to release a much awaited album called "Slightly Bitter" - and am so looking forward to this!

If you want to listen/watch/see Billie, please check out her official site which is: http://www.billiemyers.com/

And now to the actual subject of this entry.. I don’t know muc about writing poem, but I’m the sort of person who can’t really swim with poems and how it goes.. but here are some that I love reading off Billie’s website. Hope you like them too..

*********************************************************

Wrong place, wrong time, wrong nervous breakdown

Wrong me, wrong you

What’s right with this picture?

The fact that we are no longer together?

*********************************************************

Scientists say that 300 hundred miles from the earth there is no gravity

Clearly they have never stood next to you

You give me VERTIGO.

*********************************************************

In the dark I could read you

Like a blind man translates the essence of meaning into words he can’t see

… by touch alone.

*********************************************************

Emptiness settles on me, heavy in expectation waiting for my mind to speak,

But vocally anorexic, I can’t eat your words Or look at you…
